How to wire up Camper Van, Yacht or Narrow boat batteries

Once your batteries are wired up in parallel correctly, then using an intelligent charger with a desulphation phase can greatly extend the life of your leisure batteries.

Let me explain, if your batteries are over used, drained over 50% (Wet leisure batteries) or over charged then this causes sulphates to build up on the plates inside the battery.

Over time this degrades how well your battery works and ultimately leads to premature battery failure.

An intelligent charger, like the CTEK range, has a short desulphation phase to get rid of the sulphates. It then monitors the battery ensuring that it only provides the optimum amps and volts to charge the battery whilst avoiding causing sulphates

This ensures your camper van battery can be 100% charged without reducing the life of your battery.

This good article from an American site explains how to wire batteries up in Parallel very well.
